CUSTOMER SPOTLIGHT: Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado
It’s time for another CERVIS Customer Spotlight! We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: we work with some pretty incredible organizations! It is our goal and passion to help them (and you!) manage and effectively engage volunteers to make the biggest impact. Our Customer Spotlight series is a way to show off some of these real and admirable organizations -- showing practically how CERVIS is partnering with them to make a difference.
Today, we are highlighting Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado. Their mission is to provide food, partnering opportunities, and education to fight hunger and food insecurity in Southern Colorado communities. Just this last year, Care and Share served 203,339 neighbors across 31 Southern Colorado counties, distributing 20.4M pounds of food to neighbors in need and tallying up over 44,000 volunteer hours! We chatted with Brittany Smith, Volunteer Engagement Director, about how Care and Share’s volunteer program has benefited by working with CERVIS. Let’s see what she had to say:
Tell us about your volunteers:
Our volunteers are essential - they are in every area of our organization. They help with Food Sorting and Packing, Agency Relations, Sunny Side Markets, Administrative, SNAP, Cooking Matters, and everywhere in between. Without our 5,000 unique volunteers annually, we truly would not be able to operate as an organization.
One thing we are most proud of is the fact that we were voted Best Organization to Volunteer for in Colorado Springs in 2023!
Tell us about working with CERVIS:
CERVIS has helped make it much easier for groups to self-reserve their volunteer slots, instead of waiting for me to do it, making my favorite feature of CERVIS the Group Self Reservations - hands down! Most everything can be automated through CERVIS, which takes a lot of the burden off of the administrative side.
We have also been able to run reports on just about anything we want to know. For instance, volunteers between the ages of 25-45, who live within 5 miles of Downtown, are active military, and have volunteered with us within the past 3 months? We can run a report on that! How many volunteers over the age of 65 have included us in their planned giving? We can find that information!
CERVIS is a very powerful tool, and we even could be doing so much more with it too! It's just a matter of building everything out to what matters for your organization and volunteer needs.
